Residence opportunities for writers and translators

Erik Hagoort of Trans Artists first presented an overview of the rich possibilities of artist-in-residence programs for writers and translators. He informed the public about using the Trans Artists website to search for residence programs that match with the specific wishes of authors and translators.

Erik Lindner stayed at several writer-in-residence centres, among them the Centre international de poésie Marseille and twice the Taipei Artist Village in Taiwan. For him both spots were a garantee for rich and raw experiences. For Jeanne Holierhoek translators' houses are indispensable and a great stimulance for the hard labour of the translator. More than once she used the accommodation and excellent library of the Europäisches Übersetzer Kolloquium. Rashid Novaire finished the meeting with his residency experience at the Chinese European Art Center in Xiamen, China. There, he proclaimed, he learned what it is to go on with writing.
